1. Grampa Weeder is a useful tool because you don't need to sit to remove weeds. As for maneuverability I have only two things I'd like to say the manufacturer can improve on. One is its length. The maker should sell two lengths. One for shorter people like they have now and the other for tall people with a longer wooden part to accommodate my back.The other possible improvement is a longer snout (all other similar ones have the same short snout) which would dig deeper as many weeds have very long roots which will grow back if partially cut off. This could be called "Extra Long Heavy Duty Grampa Weeder." I'd pay additional money for that.
2. It is an amazing product, ingenious for a 100 year old invention. It broke completely in two and I was passed the return time. It was the wood which I think just had a weak spot, like the baseball bat that breaks after hitting a ball. I called them up and told them and the response was immediate that they would send me a new one and telling me it has a lifetime guarantee. They were so friendly and pleasant. I highly recommend!
3. I already have Weed Puller by Garden Weasel - very good tool, but Grampa's Weeder is easier to use and more effective. It requires very little force to tilt it and pull weed while Garden Weasel requires some arm strength to turn it. Because of that Grampa's Weeder is also faster. Push-in and tilt takes couple of seconds. The best is to use it after big rains - easier to pull whole root without breaking it. I held screwdriver to remove weed/dirt from the claws, but it is easy to do if you slide the handle up, instead of bending down (Garden Weasel has plunger for it, but pounding strong spring takes toll on the hand and it can pinch). Build quality is very good. Handle is smooth, looks strong and fits tight in the sturdy metal part. It is secured with a screw. Metal claws are forked. It leaves small hole in the ground (about size of a quarter). Very simple and effective tool.
